Need to celebrate differences in your marriage?
"My husband and I are so different by God's sweet design! When we go on vacation, I'd rather splurge and he'd rather stay longer and stretch our vacation budget! Opposites do attract. When I stopped teaching school to be a stay-at-home mom, we suddenly cut our income significantly. As hard as it was for me, I needed to help my husband with this new budget. In order to practice hospitality in our home, I was forced to be a bit more creative. You see, I grew up in South Carolina where entertaining usually meant a five course meal. Thus Sweet Monday, Women's Social on a Shoestring...Tied to a Generous God was born. Our new budget could handle a dessert a month and a candy to go with the theme. I would plan for 50 and if I didn't have enough dessert, I'd ask some of my closest friends not to eat. And if I over planned, there was just more to shower on my sweet neighbors and friends. Isn't it wonderful that our generous God doesn't do anything on a shoestring but is so lavish in His love for us? That's why we can celebrate differences in our marriage."
